Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket Hammerless .25 ACP - Standard Blued Variations

1908 Vest Pocket sn 466

Serial number 466.  The earliest variation of the Vest Pocket Model.  Characteristics include a high polished blued finish, early Type I black hard rubber stocks, full blued barrel, no rampant Colt present on rear of slide (16 slide serrations), smooth sight groove on top of slide, slide marking ending with Dec. 22 1903 patent date.

Serial number 60049.  Characteristics include a high polished blued finish, early Type I black hard rubber stocks, full blued barrel, no rampant Colt present on rear of slide (16 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, slide marking ending with Jan. 25 1910 patent date.

1908 Vest Pocket sn 91582

Serial number 91582.  Characteristics include a high polished blued finish, early Type I black hard rubber stocks, full blued barrel, Early style Rampant Colt on globe present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, slide marking in smaller font ending with Jan. 25 1910 patent date.

1908 Vest Pocket sn 105919

Serial number 105919.  Characteristics include a high polished blued finish, later Type II black hard rubber stocks, bright polished barrel, Early style Rampant Colt on globe present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, slide marking in smaller font ending with Jan. 25 1910 patent date.

1908 Vest Pocket sn 321430

Serial number 321430.  Characteristics include a royal blued finish, later Type II black hard rubber stocks, bright polished barrel, Rampant Colt (no globe) present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, slide marking in smaller font ending with Jul. 31 1917 patent date.  Pistol also has the magazine safety disconnector (available after sn 141000) which prevents the arm from being fired with a round in the chamber when the magazine has been removed.

1908 Vest Pocket sn 350788

Serial number 350788.  Characteristics include a royal blued finish, early Type I machine checkered walnut grips with forward facing flush medallions (grips made standard after May 1, 1924, these medallions used for approx. three months), bright polished barrel, Rampant Colt present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, slide marking in smaller font ending with Jul. 31 1917 patent date.  Pistol has the magazine safety disconnector.

1908 Vest Pocket sn 388207

Serial number 388207.  Characteristics include a royal blued finish,  Type II machine checkered walnut grips with left facing flush medallions, bright polished barrel, Rampant Colt present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, slide marking in smaller font ending with Jul. 31 1917 patent date.  Pistol has the magazine safety disconnector.

Serial number 420074.  Pre/Post-War Variation.   Characteristics include a tank blued finish (hardening line visible on front of slide), Type II black hard rubber grips  (surplus parts), bright polished barrel, Rampant Colt present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, single line slide marking.  Pistol also the magazine safety disconnector.

1908 Vest Pocket sn 420024

Serial number 420024.  Pre/Post-War Variation.   Characteristics include a tank blued finish (hardening line visible on front of slide), Type II machine checkered walnut grips (surplus parts), bright polished barrel, Rampant Colt present on rear of slide (14 slide serrations), sight groove on top of slide has transverse lines, single line slide marking.  Pistol also the magazine safety disconnector.
