	Type I and Type II Colt Automatic Model 1900
      Pistol Caliber .38 Rimless Smokeless - Type I magazines (top) were 
	flat above the groove in the back of the magazine.  Type II magazines 
	(bottom) had a small raised hump area above the groove in the back of the 
	magazine.  This transition took place approximately at serial number 
	3,000.

	flat above the groove in the back of the magazine.  Type II magazines 
	(front) had a small raised area above the groove in the back of the 
	magazine.  Both are full nickel plated (with nickel plated followers) 
	and marked "PAT'D SEPT. 9. 1884" on the base plate. |
